ALESSANDRO VOLPI

Alessandro brings with him over 13 years’ experience in the distressed debt markets across to Tanto Capital Partners. During this period, he has advised investment banks, hedge funds and family offices around special situation financing and illiquid credit transactions. Starting his career in Italy as a solicitor specialised in corporate law and bankruptcy procedures, Alessandro moved to Ireland joining the Dublin office of Merrill Lynch Capital Markets Bank before transferring to Merrill Lynch European headquarters in London in 2007, where he has been working as internal legal counsel for various trading desks before joining the Global Distressed Group in 2008.

From 2011 he has been based in Italy, working as a distressed debt and special situation consultant advising a top tier Swiss investment bank, few large family offices and a number of ultra-high net worth individuals on bankruptcy composition proposals, NPL portfolio origination, due diligence, and management, distressed asset origination and management, opportunistic credit investments. In his most recent role as Head of Special Situations and EM distressed debt opportunities at Aram Capital Ltd, he has been involved in several high-profile transactions in Eastern Europe and was involved as an advisor in the largest bankruptcy restructurings in Italy.

Alessandro holds Italian and Spanish law degrees from Pisa and Oviedo University and has been admitted to the bar in Rome and Madrid.
